CAERPHILLY LOCKDOWN UPDATE - Important information for patients
Posted on 9 Sep 2020
CAERPHILLY LOCKDOWN UPDATE
Further to the Welsh Government announcement to introduce local lockdown restrictions to Caerphilly borough we wanted to reassure patients that the surgery continues to remain open.
There are already several measures in place to keep patients safe when attending the surgery and reduce the footfall through the building.
We continue to triage patients and offer remote consultations via phone, email and video where appropriate.
To control the number of people in the waiting room and enable social distancing, we have added a new collection point adjacent to the main entrance for prescriptions, sick notes etc. We continue to manage 2 sites to keep potential COVID patients separate from the main waiting area.
In view of the local rising number of cases and in the interest of protecting patients and our staff, we would kindly request that patients wear facemasks when attending the surgery. We would also request strict adherence to hand hygiene; please use the sanitiser provided in the waiting room on entering and leaving the building.
As a reminder please do not attend the surgery for any appointments if you have symptoms of COVID i.e. temperature, cough, loss of taste/smell (unless specifically advised to do so by a GP). You can request a COVID test by phoning 119 or via the government website.
If you have a booked appointment and need to cancel/rearrange this please could you let us know by contacting the surgery via telephone on 01443 812979
Thank you all once again for all of your patience and understanding
